New Delhi: The 70th National Film Awards ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan was dominated by SS Rajamouli's RRR 2, which claimed nine awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Jr NTR), and Best Background Score (MM Keeravani).
Jr NTR won the Best Actor award for the second consecutive year, delivering a speech that drew a standing ovation from an audience that included the President and Prime Minister.

Ram Charan received the Best Supporting Actor award for his nuanced performance, while composer MM Keeravani secured an unprecedented back-to-back Best Score win.
The sweep cements Rajamouli's status as India's pre-eminent auteur. He is currently in final negotiations for a ₹500 crore co-production with a major Hollywood studio.
A total of 200 films were considered for the 70th edition; Tamil cinema came second with 15 awards across categories, while Malayalam and Kannada productions also featured prominently.
